Meet The Team
Our team and close partners encompass all facets, including finance, market research, construction, sales and marketing. Leading the way are our four Directors, who have combined their experience, networks, resources and capital to create a formidable executive team.
GROUP DIRECTOR & PARTNER
Marc Black
Marc began his property career in 1999, renovating back to back terraces in Leeds and by 2002 he had a portfolio of over 300 properties which he sold to owner occupiers and investors. Breathing new life into run down properties and creating new modern homes was a successful strategy that eventually saw the creation of Life Property Group. From 2003 - 2008 he developed over 14 sites with blocks of flats ranging from 16 – 150 units all over the UK.
Marc co-founded Modernistiq Development in 2018 after recognising the growing need to meet tenant demand with quality spaces that embraced evolving modern life. He currently sits as Head of Acquisitions and Head of New Business within the group.
GROUP Director & partner
Steve Wright
As one of Modernistiq’s co-founders, Steve brings with him over 20 years of experience in finance and a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance. Responsible for all finance aspects and risk management within the group, Steve analyses each of our projects to ensure it is compliant and meets our overall financial strategy.
Alongside, Steve is the owner of a successful finance company that has been trading over 13 years.
GROUP SALES & design MANAGER
Lucinda Black
Since 2002, Lucinda has been actively involved in the purchasing, refurbishment and selling on of properties. Noticing a healthy profit, Lucinda employed staff to manage the sales and lettings side of the business as she begun to work more closely with her husband, Marc on the development aspects.
Today, Lucinda plays a key role in identifying new sites for the company as well as being responsible for the interior design and staging of our developments.
HEAD OF MARKETING
Lauren Hall
With a deep understanding of the property development cycle, Lauren’s focus is centred around creating and delivering the group strategic marketing plan for Modernistiq and each of our developments.
Striving to raise awareness and increase demand from investors and prospective buyers Lauren works with key external stakeholders to deliver creative and media solutions across the entire property marketing spectrum, with a major focus on branding, design, digital marketing, and targeted advertising.
FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
Josh Wright
Josh brings with him experience of working in both central government as an Economist, and in the private sector within credit risk. His skill set is wide ranging and encompasses; underwriting, portfolio analytics, data analysis, report writing, and budget optimisation. Having predominantly worked in large corporations across Europe, Josh now support’s the Finance Director on Group wide finance priorities in our Head Office. Josh reports and monitors inter Group liquidity needs and transactions, as well as financial forecasting.
Alongside this, Josh has a First-class Honours in Economics and is a part time Finance and Economic Policy MSc candidate at the University of London. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management
HEAD OF SALES & DEVELOPMENT CO-ORDINATION
Chris Bell
Christopher Bell joined Modernistiq back in 2020 having limited property experience but a strong academic background in BSc Sport Science and MSc Accounting and Finance. Working closely alongside Director Marc Black, Christopher has acquired a plethora of skills, leading him to become Head Sales and Development Coordination. Christopher also plays Semi-Professional Rugby alongside his role at Modernistiq, bringing tenacity, focus and drive to all he does and those around him.
